57th Festival of Sports 2014 Tenpin Bowling Championships
Perfect victory for Chung

11th May, Hong Kong: Ivan Chung rolled a magical perfect 300 en-route to capturing the Men's Masters title of the 57th Festival of Sport 2014 ahead of Edward Cheng in second and two Hong Kong national youths, Otto Leung and Tony Wong in third and fourth.

Singles champion, Jason Sin set the opening pace with 248 to lead ex-national, Chung Him by 4 pins in second and Edmond Lo third, a further 6 pins away. Sin kept up a good pace to lead for the next three games before Ivan Chung fired the tournament's first 300 in game 4 to take over the running.

But Chung lost the lead to Edward Cheng after Cheng registered five consistent games to lead Chung by 22 pins. Cheng continued to set the pace while Chung kept close with the leader.

A strong game from Chung in the 11th game allowed the champion to regain the lead by 15 pins as Cheng managed only 191. Chung finished it off with 190 to clinch the title with 2486. Cheng rolled identical 190 but settled for second with 2471.

Wong, who was third before the final game ended with a poor 163 to slip down to fourth with 2455 behind team-mate, Leung, who roled 194 to claim third spot with 2433. Early pace-setter, Sin ended in a disappointing 18th position.

Meanwhile, 2012 ABF Tour Hong Kong leg champion, Gloria Yung won the Women's Masters title with a comfortable margin of 132 pins with a total of 2412. Hazel Lam finished second with 2280 while Helen Lo took third spot with 2228.

Jasmine Chiu finished in the money in fourth position with 2223. Singles champion, Victoria Chan managed to finish only in seventh spot.

Singles champion, Tony Lo won the Youth Boys Masters title with a total of 1604 over 8 games. Cheung Yuk Fung settled for second position with 1582 while Edmond Leung claimed third spot with 1537.

Hong Kong potential team member, Gigi Leung captured the Youth Girls Masters crown with a toal of 1450 followed By Chloe Lee Wing Yau in second with 1387 and Katie Cheng third with 1288.

Ms Vivien Lau, Chairman of Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress and Honorary Life President of Asian Bowling Federation and secretary general of FIQ presented the prizes to the winners. Mr Frankie Cheung, Tournament Director and member of the Executive Committee also presented prizes to the winners.
