ABF Tour - Hong Kong 2015
First runner-up for Hong Kong youth

31st August, Hong Kong: 2015 Macau-China International Open Youth champion, Jimmy Cheung of Hong Kong put in a respectable performance to finish as first runner-up in the Men's division of the ABF Tour Hong Kong 2015 in his debut.

Both Sam Cooley of Australia and Cheung started the final match with strikes in their opening frame. Whilst the Aussie spared his second frame, Cheung failed to spare his second frame. Cooley followed it up with four consecutive strikes but Cheung, who was clearly struggling, had two more opened frames.

By the seventh frame, the Hong Kong national bowler was trailing by a big gap of 64 pins. Although Cheung sruck thrice from frame nine, the gap was just too much to make up allowing Cooley to cruise to a comfortable victory, 222-170. Cooley's victory earned him US$1,000 and the trophy.

Chueng had earlier edged Syaffique Ikhwan of Malaysia, 224-215 in the first semi-final to advance to the title match. The youngster also ousted team-mate and last month's Macau leg champion, Michael Mak, 245-202 in his opening round.

Other Hong Kong national women finalists, Milki Ng and Chan Shuk Han both crashed out in their opening rounds matches. Wendy Chai of Malaysia defeated last month's Macau leg champion, Veronica De Souza of Macau, 222-180 to capture her fifth career tour title.
